ATLAS GROUP/ VOLUME 1

Founded in 1999 by artist Walid Raad, The Atlas Group is a fictional archive consisting of lectures, documentaries and installations about Leban's civil war. Through this archive, Raad has created an alternative world, one in which conflict is t portrayed as a suc cession of facts, but as an abstract composition of memories and media reports. Here, Raad documents the historical figure of Dr. Fa di Fakhouri--leading civil war historian--through tebooks, videos and photographs.
